Urologist's Visit Update

Hi Guys,
Well I had my urologist's visit today and I must say he was wonderful.  Truly a lovely Doctor that is prepared to answer all your questions and be thorough etc.

I had a list of questions at least half a page long and he went into every question in detail, then I had a list of symptoms also half a page long which he also discussed in detail.

My question I posted on here before about my bladder problem, the leakage is not from a weak pelvic floor, it's neurological.  My spasms I am experiencing he said could be from the urethral syndrome or neurological.  He said urgency is nearly always neurological, so most of my bladder probs are neurological, this brings me to the next thing, I must be getting worse.

So again I have two problems, and in amongst all this testing they have found a cyst that they want to keep an eye on, they don't think it's anything to worry about, but they are just being cautious, so I have to have another Transvaginal ultra sound in a few mths I think he said to make sure it's not growing.

I could go into a long story about what my prob is and what I have to do but I thought it might bore people silly but seeing as I asked many members if they thought my bladder issues were neurological or pelvic floor I thought I should tell you what the expert said.

Take care,
Thanks Udkas

I am sure that my journal will end up a book but I will do one later as I think sharing is a way of learning and also others might be able to relate to my journey or my symptoms.  The urological visit was worthwhile and he was helpful and nice, I am very lucky as my neurologist is the same.  Good Doctors make a huge difference to how you feel both physically and mentally.

Cheers,
Udkas.

Isn't it marvelous to have a great doctor's visit?  I'm so glad your urologist was so thorough and helpful, and will be following up with you.

I never find the details of health issues boring.  You might consider a journal entry, for those of us that are interested in what you learned, what's going on with you, and what kind of treatments you'll be trying, if you feel like sharing.

Take care,

Kathy

Udkas,
Its good to hear you feel comfortable and got your answers from a professional instead of us amateurs here.  :-)

SB,
There's a fairly new urogyno in town in addition to the one I see - drop me a PM is you want the names and numbers.

Be well everyone,
Lulu

I'm glad you a great visit. I'm heading in that direction myself. I'm waiting for my insurance to approve the referral to a gyn-urologist. I'm interested in what treatment options they offered you as well. I'm not sure if my problem is pelvic floor or neurological or both. I've had a hysterectomy so pelvic floor weakening could be a problem as well as neurological. Do you know how they tell the difference?

I'm glad you had a good visit with the urologist!  I know you've had so many urologic issues going on for some time now--it's great that he spent the time with you to really answer your questions!  Did he offer any treatment options?
