@sarah-My new insurance requires me to use this mail order pharmacy or I will be penalized and pay $10 more per prescription. That adds up but it might be worth it.
I went to my pcp today. I had actually gained 9 pounds!!! Bought some new sweat pants at Kohl's to wear when I'm not working-I feel so miserable...
She doesn't think I have blood clots or any swelling around my heart or lungs. She's thinking it may be medication related. She sent me for labs of blood and urine to see if that turns up anything. She put me on a low salt diet, told me to elevate my legs above my chest several times a day(yea right, my employer will love this), and gave me a prescription for Lasik to take no more than 3 times a week. Told me to drink a minimum of 36 oz of water when I take one.
Back to work tomorrow, and a 12 hour day on Saturday all on my feet. I hope this goes away soon. On a more positive note, I'm thankful that I'm able to work...
the weight gain should send you to your doctor NOW !!
take your baclofen with you...........
I don't use express script, I like picking mine up and seeing the pharmacist myself.......am too old fashioned I guess! In fact, I got to watch them mix my last Tysabri infusion. (they had a sub in) probably a once in a lifetime deal!
Keep us posted, we all learn from each other
HVAC...... ARrrgghhh I feel your pain in dealing with these people. I was thinking to myself, what about the people that really NEED their drug and without it have terrible side effects. My mum has epilepsy and without her drug she would have seizures. If she misses one pill, she has a seizure.
I hope you never have an issue with them again!!
P.s how are you doing??
Thanks Supermum and Lulu! I have an appointment tomorrow with my pcp. I have gained 7 MORE pounds since this started! Unfortunately, in my vanity, this probably disturbs me more than the actual swelling.
Sorry HVAC! Delay of cancer drugs could be much more detrimental than waiting for MS drugs.I posted on Bubbles_04 post titled "Rebif Rant". The delay in getting the specialty drugs seems like a reoccurring problem.
Express script is a new incarnation of Medco. It has been around awhile.
Generic Drugs come from many sources, not the drug company which made the original drug, but from another major drug company. Teva makes most of the generics in the U.S. Most drugs are manufactured in places like India or the former Soviet Union.Teva owns over 800 generic drug companies around the world. My generic of Imitrex is made by Teva in India. It is sold as Dr. Reddy's Headache Formula. It says don't break tablet. They are made so poorly they break when you try to get them out of the packaging.
My gripe with Express Script is it took 24 days to get a script pre authorized. They knew what the drug was and knew the dose I was on but said they had never been contacted by my Doctor or Pharmacy. If I had never had the script filled how would they know this unless they had been contacted by my Doctor or pharmacy? They can read minds? This drug can only be used by Cancer patients so they are doing harm to a lot of cancer patients by making them wait.
Alex
I have express scripts as my primary mail order pharmacy and haven't encountered any problems with their generic drugs. I agree with JJ and you need to have this checked by your PCP.
Hi, sorry I can't make a comment on Express Scripts but please go and see your dr about the painful feet. Swelling that leaves an impression etc is not normal, and really needs to be checked out. That's actually what got me thrown in hospital, dx with toximia at the end of my first pregnancy (many moons ago) but it could be something else too. Please don't let it go as another weird aspect your dealing with, get it checked out please.
Cheers.........JJ
