Thankfully it has stopped but I have been doing kegal exercises
I have different urinary issues now then I did a year ago before my suspicious symptoms started. (I'm a limbolander.)
I have incontinence from my children being born - I think. Those started around the time my kids were born and have remained the same. I have urgency and can not maintain holding my bladder if I wait too long. This is especially bad when I'm sick or on my cycle. (I realize NOW that this could have been one of my intitial symptoms.)
That said, when I had my worst symptoms last fall I was leaking. I leaked when I was sleeping and walking. There was no control of it or urgency, in fact, I didn't realize I was even leaking!!! It has continued off/on since then.
I did see a urologist and he was going to run some tests but my neurology issues are taking precidence with having a new job. I let my new Neuro know that I will follow-up once I have some sick time accrued.
If it's the pelvic floor - there are surgical options, physical therapy options as well as medications. Lots of options.
But if it is from the pelvic floor what can be done? Plus I had a cesarean
I have urine leakage since the birth of my fourth child. Beforebthis whole ms thing started, I was running, LOL, and I would lose a lot then.
Like lulu said it could be from the pelvic floor.
Good luck!
Hi Mo, it's good to see you here. The unfortunate news is bladder/bowel problems are very common with MS. In fact it is up at the top of the symtoms list.
What you need to do is arrange an appointment with a good urologist - preferable a urogynecologist who can handle all these problems in one office. You need to have an open conversation with the urologist about the leaking and determine if your problem is MS related or being caused by something else such as a UTI or connected to your pelvic floor from childbirth.
It is so complicated, but worth the time to find a specialist you trust.
best, Lulu
