OT: Great News - update (Glad neurologists make mistakes)

Yesterday I posted about a friend of mine that is being treated at UCSF by one of the top stroke neurologists in the US.  A few  days ago he lapsed into a coma in Cancun.  The Doc at UCSF gave him about a 1% chance of ever regaining consciousness.  Yesterday he was semi conscious and responded to a few questions from a nurse, but not the doctors.  Today he is conscious and has been speaking on the phone.  Cognitive functions appear to be intact.  I have not seen any updates on his motor functions yet.  

So even with the most up-to-date diagnostic equipment and the top skills available... this is one time I;m really glad the neurologist was very wrong and my friend didn't know that he only had a 1% chance of waking up!
