OT: a little prescription funny :-)

I went and picked up the Celebrex prescription today, and just took my first one a little bit ago. I was looking over the info that came with the prescription. Here is a conversation I just had with DH....

Me: This prescription costs almost $72 a month!

DH: Please! That is nothing! My prescription is $150 a month. (he is on singulair)

Me: Oh, you wanna play that game, huh? Well, my *other* prescription is $3,000 a month. I win.

:-)

I'm not a big fan of the Trigeminal Neuralgia, but I went to Target and got my Flexeril and Tegretol refilled for the next month, and I think it was two bucks after insurance.  Seeing some of these prices makes me thankful I have pretty good insurance.

I like "designer drugs" Lulu (hmmmm, that does not sound right. I mean I like the idea of calling them that, not that I like drugs LOL)

Quix, DH just laughed and said "Yep, you win little Miss Fancy Disease."

I have to say, if my insurance was not so good I do not know what I would do. I have no co-pay at all for the Copaxone or the gabapentin, and I only paid $1 for the Celebrex!

I have a lengthy list of "designer drugs" - that makes them sound better, right?  Between the copaxone and the ampyra and then throw in lipitor my monthly tab is exhorbitant.  DH has his own set of pricey drugs, including lipitor and advair but mine definitely beat out his in cost.

The insurance company must hate to see my bills.  I am constantly thankful that I have good insurance, otherwise I would be either broke or really ill.

Thanks for the laugh - Lulu

Jess:

Seems like the insurance companies are losing money on you for meds alone. And yup, you did one up DH on that one.

I'm not dx'd, but started again with a new neuro in March. With all of the MRIs of the brain and spine on top of other tests, I received a letter from a company on behalf of my insurance company. They were trying to determine if all of this might be due to an accident or injury that should be covered by another carrier (like workers comp, car accident caused by another driver, blah, blah, blah).

Had to laugh at that. First time this has happened. Guess its because my test orders only list symptoms with no dx yet.
