These comments were a while ago but I feel compelled to respond. I have MS and I have many of the symptoms talked about. I was diagnosed with Eagles Syndrome.
Thank you Flipper, that is so interesting that it can be dealt with like that. And yeah I sure will try to ask my neuro about if my theory could be right in any way. I will give him a chance for now, but I am going to wait and see a little while longer. Hope you´re ok.

There is a Vagus Nerve on both sides of the neck the one on the right side effects organs like the heart. The one on the left side deals with the vocal cords and the like. From what I have read about your posts, it sounds like it is the Vagus Nerve on the left side that is causing you problems. If your neuro doc does not want to talk about it and your concerns, find a new one. I had a Vagus Nerve Simulator implanted to help control the neurological impulses the nerve sends out. When the stimulation goes off I can feel it in my neck and my voice changes. I suggest that you visit the following site: http://us.cyberonics.com/en/ They have alot of information about the Vagus Nerve and you would be able to contact one of their nurses to ask any questions you may have.
Sidesteps, my tight throat feels like the larynx (I think it is the right word) is turned around, like there is something in the way. Because I´m not English it is hard to describe exacly. But it is not frightening tight, if you know what I mean. My feeling is that muscles in my neck are not working right, also when I get this feeling like it is open all the way to the stomach (like a GERD feeling).
Yes Ren I´ve been comparing my self with some of Alex symptoms. I´m am not going to my neuro for now, but when I mentioned this to him in Nov after my first tightness "attack" he seemed like he did not want to say to much about this theory of mine. But now I´ve been reading much more and know that this is rather rear, but sometimes there can be a lesion in the medulla pressing the vagus nerve. I am just collecting info and writing it down.
Thank you both,
Dagun
I do believe that your symptoms fit into a vague category that HVAC(Alex) has. She has had trouble with diaphragm spams. Since the vagus nerve does play such a important part in the body's function, it is possible to get all of these symptoms because the vagus nerve controls all of these bodily functions.
Have you discussed with your doctor? Does he/she have any suggestions? especially with the throat tightening.I look forward to hearing what the doctors have to say about this interesting (unfortunately for you) ailment.
Ren
What do you mean tight throat? Can you explain this better for me?
Thank you Valkyrie, yes now you have something new to think about :-).
I think that most ms-ers dont get this, or at least not early in their ms story (sorry don´t know how to say this right in English). I´m not diagnozed so ofcourse this could be a part of something else also. I´m just so sure that I have something going on with the Vagus nerve. Plus ofcourse I have all my other symptoms (not vagus related). Well.. someday we will know alot more, we are always learning.

It makes sense to me.
I have been having mild symptoms that all fit with that for the past week: funny feeling in the throat, tight is probably the best way to describe it, a lot of sneezing, and a sort of vague fluttery heartbeat that I thought might be from not enough air due to the tight throat or that I wasn't drinking enough water which can cause a heart murmur.
I was wondering if I was having an allergic reaction to something because I would suddenly start sneezing and get the tight throat feeling, soon followed by the fluttery heartbeat. I almost went to the ER the other night worrying that my throat might be swelling and the nearest ER is 35 miles away. Just as I was about to give in and go, the feeling went away.
It doesn't seem to be affected at all by allergy pills and it comes and goes for no discernible reason so your idea makes a lot of sense to me.
