Neuropathy with skin problems where do I go

: : Have you heard of sensory neuropathy causing a itching skin rash with little bumps that comes and goes when the burning sensations increase.
: : I have had bumpy itchy dry skin since this started.  When I have increases in the intensity of my burning I also have a skin reaction.. I have been to two dermatologists requesting biopsys but they won't do them, as they tell me I have a non=specific inflammatory thing plus a variety of skin conditions. But  I can't imagine a non-specific inflammatory thing could itch and be covering my neck, face and chest.  But I first got a skin thing before the  burning in the beginning. I got a rash then burning.  I feel there is a correlation between the skin itching and reacting and the sensory Neuropathy.. This itching thing is mostly on my neck and face.  However, my arms, back and chest get bumps after the burning starts.  Do you know of any connective tissue diseases that would manifest like this. My tests don't show this but I wasn't sure if there are tests that would absolutely rule out all connective tissue diseases. My Friend told me some you can't be tested for?   I've undergone so many tests without an answer.  I think my dermatologists THINK they know what these skin conditions looks like but that they look like something BUT AREN'T what they are diagnosing.  Especialy when they tell me I have different things.   If you can tell me if Sensory Neuropathy is associated with any kind of skin things I would appreciate it.  Thanks

  : Hi Melinda,
: The internet is a reasonable way to describe neurological syndromes but I
: am afraid it is particularly difficult when describing skin diseases,
: especially when you are communicating with a neurologist.
: I will not try to out guess you dermatologists but I have done a
: literature search and come up with a list of the diseases which combine
: skin changes with peripheral neuropathy ( sensory neuropathy included ).
: I cannot go into  adetailed description of every disease here and some of
: the will not be relevant, however for the sake of completeness I will include the conditions
: which come up in my search.
: I suggest that you quote this list both to your neurologist and
: dermatologist and let them review the possibilities.
: List ( more likely possibilities first )
: - Cryoglobulinemia, Sarcoidosis, Diabetes, POEMS syndrome, Sjogrems symdrome,
:  Drug side effects : Amiodarone, Leprosy ( not the most likelynI suspect! )
: This list does at least prove however that the same underlying cause CAN cause both of the
: symptoms you mention. I hope this will be of some help.
  Great Answer Doc!
Dear Barbara:
Please see answer above. Burning all over the body does not automatically imply a sensory neuropathy. If you have not already had a neurological assessment, it is essential that you have one, preferably from a neuromuscular specialist of repute working in a major academic neurology department near you.
I am rather unsure (reading this posting and your subsequent one) that you have a neuropathy at all.
