Osteophytes and Weakness

Posted By Babet on October 31, 1998 at 18:41:20:

A post myelogram CT revealed moderate sized osteophytes at  at C5-6 and C6-7 causing compression of the thecal sac w/ effacement of the spinal cord. An EMG was also performed and the findings were, Bilateral Cervical Radiculaopathy at C6, 7, 8 levels, more pronounced on the right side.
My question is, are thi osteophytes responsible for the weakness, numbness/tingling I have, mostly in my right arm and hand?. Also, could these osteophytes cause weakness in my legs that comes and goes, persistent frequent urination and constipation?.
I have been to an orthopedic surgeon as was as 2 neuro's who dont think the osteophytes are accountable for the extent of weakness I have in my arm and legs. What is your opinion, should I see a neurosurgeon?
