My 8 year old son has suffered from recurrent abdominal pain and vomitting for the past 5 1/2 years.  At the onset of these symptoms he had a complete medical work up (Head MRI, abdominal CT and ultrasounds, Upper GI,
and blood/urine/stool tests) which all were normal and a diagnosis of abdominal migrains or cyclic vomitting was given.  During the last 3 weeks his vomitting and pain has worsened considerably and are now accompanied by severe headaches.  He had another MRI of his head today that was negative.  His neurologist started him on Propranol 15 mg/day to be increased weekly.  I am quite concerened about his worsening symptoms.  His pain/vomitting would usually happen about 2x/month and symptoms would subside within an hour or so.  However, in the past 3 weeks he has severe
pain and vommiting and headaches about 3 times per week lasting sometimes up to six hours.  Should I request that GI tests be repeated or should I just treat his symptoms as migraines.  I am very concerned.
Thank you for your time.
