SED Rate?

SED Rate?

  Do ALS patients typically have elevated SED Rates through blood work?
  Thank you for your reply.
==================================
The Sedimentation (sed) rate is not elevated in ALS. An elevated sed rate is associated
with active infection of inflammatory diseases like arthritis, there is
no association with ALS.
If this occurrs in some one with ALS it is due to another process like
an infection of inflammatory process in some other part of the body.
The test is very non specific and frequently a cause is not isloated.
