From your description it sounds like your father has a form of dementia,
with some frontal lobe involvement, this can be due to multiple strokes or may
may occurr independently.
Acetylcholine certainly has a role to play in the development of dementia
and the drugs which have been shown to work function by manipulating this system.
The problem is not however one of a total body deficiency of acetylcholine
which could be remedied by a simplistic approach like simply
supplementing the diet, like treating a vitamin deficiency.
The problem is with degeneration of nerve cells which deliver the
acetylcholine to very specific targets in the cortex of the brain,
The drugs available do this rather than supplement total levels.
There is no objective evidence to suggest a significant role for the
substances you mention in the treatment of dementia.
