myoclonic jerks

Posted By L.W. on March 23, 1998 at 10:49:52:

After having brain surgery for epilepsy, in which a total of 5 and one half inches were removed, I began to experience random jerking/twitching from all over my body. I did this while I was awake and asleep. The neurologist at CCF informed me and my parents that they are myoclonic jerks and put me on medication ( I don't remember which one. At the time I had been on so many different kinds)and after a few days they went away. What exactly was happening? I had no other problems after my surgery. Thank you for any help you can provide.
