myoclonic seizures

I ma a 41 yr old female with focal seizures and have been on Lamictal 400mg daily for several months. This has all but eliminated my focal seizures so far. Recently I have been experiencing jerking of my lower extremities that seem to come from my torso and pull up my legs in a jerking fashion. I also experience milder twitching in much the same manner. This has happening both spontaneously and upon sudden noices (not necessarily loud noices). It happens  toward the end of the day and worsens if I stay up late, also happening in bed. It has happened upon awaking in the am, being irritating enough to not be able to fall back asleep. I have very little stress in my life right now, my health has been OK, except I went thru a bout of seizures recently for several months. Could these be myoclonic seizures, drug side effect, or something else? I do intend upon taking this up with my neurologist.
