I had a golf-ball sized parasaggital meningioma (primarily right occipital with much smaller lobe on left occipital) removed mid December 2008.
Surgery was very successful with 100% removal of the tumor.
I have a minor area of reduced vision in a portion of the lower right quadrant that seems to be possibly recovering to some minor extent since the operation but is not a serious problem for me at present as my peripheral vision is OK and my central 15 degrees is OK.
I had a baseline MRI recently ( 5 months after the surgery).
The report states -:
- No residual or recurrent tumor noted
- Superior saggital sinus remains paten.
- No change in the size of the ventricles.
- No new masses seen.
But there is also a comment -:
"There is gliosis and loss of volume in the left pariental cortex adjacent to the previously noted tumour".
Is this gliosos and loss of volume something I should be concerned about and is it likely to have any effect on my potential for a full recovery?
