After shot effects

Went to a new dentist exactly 1 week ago, to have my teeth cleaned.  I actually had to have the scaling done, so he gave me the great shots.  Now a week later i still have pain in my jaw from my ear to  my gland .  Should I still hurt? My old dentist of 23 years did not cause this much pain not even from a root canal.    I only had one side cleaned and now I am afraid to return to get the other side cleaned.

You need to call and speak with the dentist directly as only they know exactly what was done and where.

Pain and sensitivity is not uncommon following deep scaling and root cleaning.  However, the pain may be a sign of something more significant like an infection or inflammed tooth.

This may less to do with the dentist than the procedure that was performed.  I suggest you give him/her a chance to help you.
