Surgery Questions

Going in for surgery on Monday 7/6 to have cyst removed along with both ovaries.  Is there anything anyone can tell me that I need to ask doctor before surgery?  He does not seemed to worried about the cyst, it was complex and I am over 50 and the CA-125 was 44.  Should that be a concern?  I am thankful for this website, it has really helped me understand about the cyst and what to expect with the surgery.  Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for your help.  I really don't know what to expect.  I know the OB I go to is not that concerned, so I will be asking more questions on Monday.  I appreciate your support and I will let you know next week how things went.
thanks again.

Just keep reminding yourself that over 95% are benign and that the CA-125 can be affected by the fact that you do have a cyst or many other things.  I would ask him what his plan B is should things not look right when he's in there.  Will there be a gyn/onc on call to do a frozen section and to take over if things aren't benign?  Do ask about dealing with the surgery induced menopause so that you have a plan from day one.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
