I have just been tested for mono. It seems very likely and I am wondering if I should have my 3 year old tested. She complains of being tired, she does have a cold but she has been tired for awhile. She also had a red rash on her face a few weeks ago. Very sporadic.
My son had mono at 18 months...I still do not know where he got it! He had an enlarged spleen which can happen with mono. It wasn't considered dangerous but the docs did advise us to be a bit cautious about letting the older kids play rough as it could rupture more easily. I'd say get the little one checked out.
