Blood and Burning/Urination

I recently had robotic surgery to remove my prostate. A few days after surgery, due to what was called bladder spasms, urine came around the catheter and thru the urethra and would be accompanied by blood and a burning sensation. I am writing 2 days after the catheter was removed, and urination at the start seems normal but as my bladder appears to empty, the spasms kick in again at which point the blood and the burning reappear. I am looking for some guidance before having to call the doctor's office and heaven forbid, have to go back into the hospital. Any advice on what may be occurring?
