Nervous Need Help reading transvaginal ultrasound results
Due to irregular vaginal bleeding the results states the uterus measures 9.4x4.7x5.6cm in size. the endometrial stripe appears somewhat thickened measuring approximately 2.0 cm in width and is slightly inhomogenenous this could be due to some blood in the endometrial cavity.No uterine masses are identified. there is minimal amount of fluid in the cul de sac the right ovary measures 4.5x4.3x2.6 cm and contains a cyst which measures 1.2x2.7x2.9cm the left ovary measures 2.7x3.2x2.6 cm and contains minimal follicular changes. doppler imaging showa blood flow to and from both ovaries . Impression Minimal amount of fluid in the cul de sac. thickining of endometrial stripe which may represent some blood in the endometrial cavity. prominent cyst identified in the right ovary....
Have you been able to consult your primary physician regarding these results? I recommend having him/her correlate your other clinical information and testing in order to fully interpret the results of this ultrasound.
One question to ask your doctor is, should you be getting a follow-up ultrasound to assess for resolution of the cyst in the right ovary. In a large majority of time, these cysts go away / resolve.
