If my brain fogged memory serves me right, yes ~ it's for those who had their necks cut open and it did not have to be a thyca diagnosis.  Just the extra "smile" below the mouth.

However, I do like stella's take on the RAI (because I'm twisted very much like her!).  But I also had the RAI, so does that mean I'm double smiling in a green gaseous cloud?

Pep, you crack me up with your middle of the night wit!  Love it!  I wasn't the founder either, but all the others welcomed me with open arms after my surgery.  Sheesh, it was nice to be part of SOMETHING after all the cr@p you go through.  (thanks, guys!)

As for the chicken club?  Any interested parties can either type chicken club in the search to find all related items, or follow this link http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/470681.  Those were some fun times for sure!!!

I like everybody's take on it ... and I think you are right .. the cancer doesn't relate to the smiles .. it's the second time in that gives you a triple vs. double smile.

So maybe the :)) works for thyroid suregery(ies) and another name for all those other thryoidians battle all sorts of other stuffs ... ?

I'm for whatever you all want ....

We kind of put the :)) alongside our signature for kicks ..............

We are open to all .. only requirement .. you are here on thyroid LOL!

LOL I got the double smile with a tail Well its more like a y smile My scars look pretty good after 2 years. I am proud of my battle wounds.

I thought they would bother me but they really dont.LOL

Double smile to me means you had a TT or a partial.  I mean, hey, you've got the scar, right?....  The "extra smile"?  The one that comes with all the fun "side effects"?  YIPEE!!!!  

(Disclaimer:  I was not a founding or original member so I'm just giving my "slanted" interpretation of "the club" here.)

I don't see the cancer thing as a factor here.  Or is it?  

And the word "club" by it's very nature is a titch exclusionary, isn't it?  I say we let all of the non-TT'ers in as well...  I mean they're probably a bit more "stable" than us thyroid-less or partially thyroid-less people, aren't they?   (Sounds like we're partially hydrogenated or something... doesn't it?)  lol...!  They could add the voice of "thyroid-reason" in a "thyroid storm"... (Yeah, I know it's getting twisted now...)

And then there's the "abolated" thyroidians...  Just because they have no scar, doesn't mean they're not "thyroid-less".....  AR-10, Let me open the door for you here....

I say "All Thyroidians WELCOME!!!!  Come one, come all!!!"  LOL!

Double smile is for those who have had thyroid surgery  (you have a smile on your face and now one on your neck).  There are a very few of us here who have TRIPLE smiles - we've had two thyroid surgeries.

Okay - there you go but I'm NOT explaining the Chicken Club, tinfoil hats, or the pub!
