What about Nutrisystem.... Good? Bad? Ugly? I read in one of the thyroid books that a high protein, less carb diet is a way to go. True? Also I have read in several places that if you know a good massage therapist, that something called "rebalancing" is a lovely thing. I've done that a couple of times and feel like a lovely puddle of mush when that is done. Very relaxing, but I didn't know if there are other benefits.
I should have added above that you need to make sure other issues like adrenals are not the cause of your situation.
Exercising with an adrenal disorder can sometimes damage things more. I am not saying sit and don't do anything, but a heavy intense workout is not suggested until the adrenals are fit again.
I try to walk 30 mins every other day in a very fresh air environment. It seems to help my physical condition, but because of being tiered I can not do exercise much unfortunately.
A good diet for us as a lifetime committment is to look into the Zone diet by Dr Sears and the South Beach plan.
The foods listed there are fat burning.
If you have not been exercising at all - as ME - A 30 minute work out is best. Walking is good ---- then build up.
The more movement the better if you are already in a fitness program.
Is your hypothyroid condition temporary or permanent?
