Hair Loss with Change of Thyroid Medication

I have been seeing a doctor for bio-identical hormones and have been on them for about 7 months.  My problem is that recently after being on Synthroid (low dose of 50 mcg.) for about 17 years and my doctor had me gradually reduce the synthroid medication over a few months from 50 to 25 mcg per day while taking the Armour (60 mgs).  I have now been only on Armour for the last 2 weeks, and started to experience a large amount than usual of hair loss when I comb it.  Is this normal or what does this hair loss indicate?  Is it temporary?

LOL

If I think about it.... I GREW hair in places I didn't want it when hypo'd

and my eyebrows used to be thick and lucious - now I have a chunk here and a chunk there.... and its growing in the places I pluck them out!!

My chin has about 10 stringy white wires that seem to grow overnight.. I am plucking so much there - it doesn't even hurt anymore!

Enough!!! -- ..........gross - I am getty pretty graphic LOL

Maintance stinks now being hypo on meds..... giggle ..giggle

Ok..now I'm gonna upset the aapplecart lol.
I NEVER lost hair on my head although I got hair like straw when Hypo.

But my hair didnt grow under my armpits , legs etc whist hypo either.

Its weird the way meds change things.

Actually Laura - I lost more hair when I was hyper....  it may be all individual - that is only my experience with hair loss.

I agree - post your labs

Usually a large amount of hair loss is from going hypo....when did you have your levels checked last, and are you on enough medication?
Would you like to share your actual lab results? Would love to take a look at them.  :)
