There is a guy on board here - dandydon- says he had a TT 30yrs ago and no meds for 20.
Claims his TSH was in the 300's at one time and he felt fine.
I called him a walking miracle.
well when they did a ultra sound on my thyroid last year the tech ladie said i barely even had a thyroid i found out today it is hashemotoes. my thyroids are whacked out and i feel like ****. it takes up to six weeks before meds work. the best to you.
I know you can get along with half a thyroid without meds, if you're lucky. I don't know if you can get along with a quarter of a thyroid.
I would have to hear from someone who is doing so before I believed it.
Actually, I know a guy who had a "total thyroidectomy" a decade ago, and he is not taking any meds. I think the doctors left quite a bit behind, personally.
But if it works out well for you, congratulations!
You'll know in a few weeks.
