Home from surgery

I am home from the hospital. I stayed overnight and I am glad I did. I was sick to my stomach and was in pain but I feel almost back to my old self again. The recovery has been great so far. They removed half of my thyroid. The surgeon said the surgery went great and there wasnt much bleeding. He said the lump was pretty big . He says it doesnt look like cancer but they are doing another biopsy to make sure but as I have read from other people's past experiences, that is the normal procedure. I just want all this to be behind me now.
My voice is practically back to normal. I still have some pain in my neck but I cant complain about that.
My friends and family have been great during this ordeal and this forum is great too.

I'm so glad you are back and doing so well.  For most of us it does go this easy - I'm glad it did for you too!  Plan on being the most sore about your 3rd day.  Don't over do it too much.  Remember to roll onto your stomach and push yourself up instead of trying to lift your head off the pillow when you get out of bed.  Rest, rest, rest and my fingers are crossed that your biopsy report is clean!!!
