YOO HOOOOO .. doing the HaPpY DaNcE for you!!! C~
I'm glad you are doing well. I had a whole body scan 1 week after RAI to check for metasis and to make sure that the tissue took the radiation up. I'd call nuc med and your endo to be sure.
It's wonderful news that you tolerated your RAI well and that you are feeling great. I am happy for you.
I'm so glad that you are feeling good! What a wonderful, positive and inspiring post! May we all follow in your glowing and health footprints :)
Be well!
Personally I dont really see much use for it. I had one but its not until the scan at the 6 month mark that will actually determine if all my cells are gone. To me that is the important one. But hey, I'm not a doctor and I like my doctors aggressive approach.
I had a whole body scan 1 week after RAI for papillary carcinoma. I thought that was standard but maybe not.
Trish
They usually give the dose then run the scan about 3 days later to see where your uptake is. Might want to call the nuclear medicine department at the hospital to clairfy.
Welcome back!!!!
I did have a low dose for clean up. After TT with findings of follicular carcinoma.
Since I am not happy with my Endo and feel like he isn't very proactive, just wanted to ask here to see if I needed to ASK for the scan or if his waiting to order was ok.
Thanks for your response and I'll wait to see if any of the girls respond! Thanks again!!!
Glad you're feeling better already.
Not sure if a scan at this time is normal procedure.
You had RAI for thyca clean up, didn't you?
If so, I think they will scan you in 6 months or so. One of the girls would know better than I.
