Medication craziness

Hello, it has been a year since my surgery and my TSH levels are still not normal and I still don't feel "right" I have been on 6 different medications with varying "side effects" from palpitations, sweating, insomnia, numbness/tingling, adic reflux, foggy head, blurry vision. First medication tried was .75 of Synthroid, then generics, Cytomel, Armour. Currently on .25 Levoxyl on 4 times per week.
Was thinking about switching back to Synthroid at a lower dosage - would this make sense? Has anyone else had bad side effects with meds, and then felt better on Synthroid? I just don't feel right, I don't feel well and I don' t know what to do.
Any suggestions?
I just want to FEEL BETTER.
Thanks!

All I can say is "welcome to my world." I've been dealing with the same effects you mentioned although I've only been on Synthroid. I've had heart palps, insomnia, night sweats, acid reflux, blurry vision, achiness that I can only describe as "bone pain."  You name it, I've had it too. You aren't alone. I do not feel well either and I definitely do not feel right.  When I mention these symptoms to my endo he just looks at me like there must be something wrong with me because  he's "never heard of anyone having these problems."  I like him a lot but he makes me feel like I'm crazy and that it couldn't possibly be thryoid related. I'm at my wits end. I feel good for a month and then bad for a month.  I'm currently waiting for blood results that I'm sure are going to be within the normal ranges.  All I can say is you aren't alone, it's not in your head and all doctors are stupid.

All those changes in a year?

You need to stick with one for at least six months and try to find the correct dose.

You're on the lowest dose of Levoxyl. Switching to Synthroid again would leave you with the same dosage choices. 25mcg is the smallest dose.

I switched from Synthroid to Levoxyl hoping to see improvement. I really can't say that I see any difference between the two brands, although some people have felt better on the Levoxyl.

Another case of "we all have different bodies".

I wish I had "the" answer for you, but I don't.
It's all trial and error.

The one piece of advice I can give is; get copies of all your tests. Find out what "optimal" is, not "within lab limit". Your doctor could leave you hanging in a slightly hypo state for the rest of your life if you trust and obey and he/she doesn't understand "optimal".

Best of luck.
