I am non exsistant on TSH too right now. Last lab was >0.001. But my FT3 was
"Not quite where it should be".
I actually was given an increase of 30mgs to try and bump up the FT3 and FT4
My doctor will look at me differently then others - b/c of having no thyroid function on my own. The meds need to accommodate the process a natural thyroid would do.
Hey, me too! Actually, the lowest my tsh has is 0.01 . But still with hypo symptoms galore! I wonder, if Barbara Bush can have an artery from a pig inserted into her heart, does that mean people without a thyroid can actually have one transplanted? Hmmm.
Just a thought. I think crazy things these day. Anyway, I'm currently at 0.02 and still
hypo. I wish I knew what hyper felt like :) Seeing my endo in a few weeks. Going to sleep as much as I darn well feel like it until then. ;)
Thanks for the advice. I think you will feel a lot better on the Amour verus the other medication you were on.
Armour thyroid is a mixture of both T4 and T3, in a ratio of about 4.2 to one. Patients taking Armour typically find their TSH levels suppressed below the reference range. This does not automatically mean that you are now hyper t, although many people mistakenly interpret it as such and want to reduce your meds. To me, symptoms make you either hypo t or hyper t, not a TSH test result.
The best you can find is one that will listen to your symptoms and test and regulate your meds by free T3 and free T4 results, to alleviate your symptoms.
By the way, I was on T4 meds for over 30 years, taking a full daily replacement amount and with TSH suppressed below .05. Never any hyper t symptoms. In fact it never quite got completely rid of my hypo t symptoms, so after learning about free T3, I was able to get my meds changed to Armour, and I'm now in the process of getting adjusted to best level.
