Partial Thyroidectomy

I am going to see the surgeon tomorrow finally to discuss removing 1/2 of my thyroid which has a goiter which has made me hyper-thyroid. I am on metorprolol right now since March to control the heart rate and trembling.
I would really appreciate any advice on what I should make sure to ask her.
Thank you all!

Make sure that you ask her to have a pathologist in the OR to do a "cut down" on the lobe when it is removed.  That way if they find anything nasty or suspicious they can take the entire thing out at once instead of two surgeries.

Also make sure that you talk to her about your parathyroid glands and making sure that you don't have a calcium drop after the surgery.

Hugs and keep us posted.
