TPO Antibodies

I recently had some test done and my results are as follows, TG Antibody <20, TPO Antibody 14.5 HIGH, TSH 0.629.  I am confused as to what these results mean.  I have been tested every 3 months for growth of a nodule in the thyroid which in 6 months has had no change.  I have been diagnosed with fybromyalgia, ruematiod athritis.  Does this have any connection to the massive pain I experience every day of my life.  Please help me make heads or tales of these results.

The TGab of less than 20 is a negative result, meaning you do not test positive for that antibody.

The TPOab is puzzling, and I wonder if you typed it in wrong.
The upper limit for the test is 40, so 14.5 is not high. 145 would be a positive test. 14.5 would be a negative test, or normal.

The TSH is a little low, but not very much. It is within a healthy range, but it could be a little higher.

What is happening is a slow process if antibodies attacking the thyroid's function. Your TSH is not at a level where medication needs to be added yet.

If the process continues - your thyroid should become hypothyroid and at that time meds will be given.

Watch for tettering symptoms during this time. Most likely you will swing up and down a bit with your TSH and symptoms could increase.

As for the achey muscles- that is a common symptom of going hypo - and Dx with fibro already - your muscles may be effected more with thyroid symptoms too.

At this point your TPO is high but I have seen much higher - I think if your doctor will allow - follow up with TPO -TSH testing every two weeks and track these levels. You will begin to see a corralation of TSH levels and symptoms - and will be better off knowing how you feel when TSH values are off.

Autimmune disorders are connected, you can have 1, 2 ou 3, so is not surprising having a thyroid problem too. But do you mean TPO 145.5 or 145???, if it is 145 it indicates you may have Hashimoto, but many people without autoimmune disorders can have a positive TPO titer, your TSH is OK for now , I think you should repeat your thyroid tests in a month (TSH, free T3, free T4, TPO, TG antibody). The pain your having is perhaps related to the fybromyalgia and athritis, I have a freind with fybromyalgia that have crises, lots of muscle pain. Symtoms all mix together so you need to repeat analises . I've been tired, can't do exercise my TSH is not high enough to someone to medicate me (TPO more then 1000), so doctors are checking other autoimmune disorders......AR-10 can answer you better about this values, but you should repeat in 1-2 months (my opinion).
