TSH of 150 .... and kids to take care of the day of RAI is not a good mix when they switch things around last minute .. my thoughts are with you .. keep us posted!!!!
No direct exp. here but wanted to say hello,
C~
Not until after gaining over 20 pounds and diagnosed with dementia symptoms and eyes so puffy I couldn't use an eyelash curler, did I demand my doc do a thyroid test. And that was only because of my sister telling me to do that. That was back in 2005 and I just found out today my TSH back then was 150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it but now I know why my doc never told me and all he said was by all rights I should have been in a coma. He put me on 1 mg of levothyroxine which made me hyper ( and he didn't understand that either ) and now 2 years later I am still trying to get it all under control. I go anywhere from 75mcg to 88mcg and my cholesterol is horrible and all the doc says is I need a statin which I refuse til he gets my thyroid right. So hang in there...I understand and feel your pain and we need to keep demanding these doctors do a better job in helping us get better. You will get better!!!!
I have been there...and good luck to you. Be patient, you will get better. I wanted to stay on my couch all day long....I hope they get you medicated soon.
ps switch endos!!
I asked him about doubling the meds the other day and he said it would make me feel worse. Well I'm asking him again! Could I feel worse than this? I think not. Functioning? Well, not great but I'm hanging in there. My head hurts a lot and my arms burn from the inside. But surprisingly I'm not tired. Just weak! And hungry! And nauseated. It's all good! Stupid doctors, stupid thyroid, stupid doctors....
Oh my cr@p - why do they do this to us? TSH of 150 - how are you functioning???
Yes, I'll make you a tinfoil hat too
stupid doctors, stupid thyroid (come on, repeat the mantra)
Hang in there!!! Jalder has a good point - my endo had me double my Synthroid for a few days immediately after the scan.
Argh - hang in there!!!
Be sure to double up on your Synthroid for a few days after RAI. Stay on the diet - another day or two will help with the absorbtion.
Hang in there.
Stay on the LID.
Rest as much as you can.
Like right now.
My RAI is scheduled for Friday morning. They called me today and wanted me to come tomorrow moring but it's not possible, I have kids and a husband that works and we have it all planned for Friday. Of course, they called me today at 5pm. Had they called this morning I may have been able to work something out. But it's a pretty big thing to be in isolation with kids who have school and having everything already worked out for friday I couldn't just change everything at a moments notice. I would LOVE to go tomorrow morning. I would love to go NOW! I would love for this all to be over. I wonder with a number that high if being on this dumb diet really matters. Anyone know? Am I safe to be walking around? I feel okay. Not great but on a scale of 1-10 I'm at about a 4. Of course this morning I was about negative 100!
Just call then tomorrow and find out when they are going to do the RAI? If they don't give you a date. Tell them you need the meds!! Honey you could crash. CALL ASAP
You're in my prayers too..I would call them and say you want to be hospitalized they are endangering you...Mary
Why don't they have you on medication??
Sorry you feel soooo bad. I'll keep you in my prayers. Jessi
