Thinkin my body is possessed
I think I am possessed!!!! That is the only way to describe it. I am having that kind of day where nothing is normal and now I am having hot flashes one minute and freezing the next! What gives??!!?? For blood work that is normal, a swelling thyroid, inflamation of the carotid, period trouble (BTW it was absent again for June), I feel like I am a disaster of a person to be so medically normal!

Sounds like you need to have all ends covered....keep with you an icepack and a heat pack with a nice warm pair of socks! LOL

LOL - I am trying not to fall off my chair! You know, I couldn't even remember my password to get on --- it took me 7 tries! LOL - what a day! BTW - been hot for an hour so I guess the back and forth for now has stopped! Maybe its the steroid. I know the naproxan makes me a drunken mess!

Its a permanant thing with Graves Disease.
I had these symptoms just after RAI.......8 days ago and labs showed that ALL FT's are normal and the TSH is creeping up!!!!
Yet I have also had these symptoms when my FT4 was normal (if there is such a thing lol) and my FT3 high (toxycosis).
Sounds like subclinical thyroiditis.
It will pass....just watch your levels (especially FT3)

I can't remember the last time I had alcohol....I became real intolerant to it with my thyroid problem....strange huh? haha

Hi, I know you're only young, but I have the hot flashes, followed by the freezing chills, and have had since I started a premature menopause. Have you had your fsh and oestrogen levels checked aswell as your thyroid just to be sure you're not in an early menopause too? Because both these conditions started simultaneously for me and a lot of the symptoms mix in together. But the hot flushes and chills, I have realised mostly relate to the menopause. Hope this isn't the case for you and it probably isn't coz you're so young, but it could still be your thyroid affecting your female hormones in another way. Hope this helps.

I remember once when my brain fog was so bad that I confided in an older lady who wanted to chit chat after a daily Mass that I could hardly finish a sentence without losing my train of thought. She comforted me by saying all of us have that trouble from time to time, honey. The time to worry is when you can't remember who the president is. Lord Have Mercy, when she said that, I couldn't for the LIFE of me remember the president's name. Had to wrack my brain and finally ended up nonchalantly asking my young daughter if she knew who the president was and applauded her for being so smart.
During that same chunk of time I went to the library and the librarian and I had the most interesting conversation that left us both in stitches. NEITHER of us could spit out a clear sentence and yet we were able to communicate just fine without the right words. We helped each other as I told her in my discombubulated way that I had a book on hold that I wanted to pick up, I wanted to check these books here out, and also wanted to pay what I owed for an over-due book. We finally ended up laughing so hard when we realized how awful our conversation must have sounded to those around us. She told me, "Oprah says, 'The nouns DO come back!'" Nothing like a bit of comic relief to help us when we are stumbling along through difficult times.

Maybe we all need something special from the thyroid nut factory.
Everybody has some type of change dealing with this thyroid thingy.
Just get a bag of ice and a heating pad. Thats what I did.
Get the kind that you squeeze and break the stuff up in the pack.
I think I spent about $5.00 for the two at walmart.
BTW you did give me a good laugh

OMG!!!! I just came back to my computer from yesterday --- yes, I did say yesterday, hit a button to make it come up.....was coming here anyway, and when it came up I found I was right here all along! I never logged out last night!!! :) At least I did not have to remember the damed (yes I know I spelled that wrong) password! Happy 4th everyone. Still hot and no sign of the monthly. Maybe my thyroid made the monthy go for good. I'm not sure I would miss it.... I guess we will see! LOL. Possessed I guess is my new normal.
I'm not possessed but whomever's body that I woke up in after my thyroid surgery is possessed! This isn't my body and I want my old one back (and my mind, thank you very much)

Oh, yeah we're skipping down the same road together! Dr.s seem to think it was 'female' related for years. Then when things bottomed out & thyroid was removed? Its 'female' related- my slogan "I'll be the best looking corpse at the funeral" if their not more careful! I guess I'm supposed to be looking like a 'bag lady' or something before anyone will do anything!
