Hi, everyone.  I'm new to MedHelp.org - just realized that my Dr. is ignorant and I probably need an endochronologist maybe and get better advice. Have been hypo for 5 yrs., assuming that my Drs. know best. Meanwhile, new syptoms have emerged. Many of you have reported hypothroidism symptoms of a) Anxiety, and b) Joint Pain.  On the first, my Dr. concluded that I needed Zoloft.  It helped greatly, but is it just treating a symptom, rather than a cause?  On the second, the joint pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders (and slightly sore neck) are becoming debilitating after an afternoon of yard work, kitchen work or anything that requires a little physical effort with the arms and hands.  My Dr. took an x-ray of my right shoulder and sent me a letter saying he didn't find anything. He concluded that I just need to change my sleep position - which helped but only mildly.  I slept upright on the couch the last 2 nights to keep my upper extremities from going numb - which seems benign but is actually very painful.  

Please - are these the types of symptoms that others of you have experienced?  Please share your thoughts
