another thyroid WOE for me.

Question

Ok 

Some of you know - I had a really bad tooth bugging me someth'n fierce for two weeks now. right?

Here's the run down - 

Finally saw dentist LAST monday (not this past one) b/c tooth became unbearable the last TWO saturday's ago. Was told need a root canal - schedule for 8/27-- THAT"S RIGHT THREE WEEKS

Got an antibiotic - which sent me into a rash of hives and a TEMPorary hypohe// situation. - got on another antibiotic and continued in semi hypohe// with that Z pack until last friday. 

Tooth still hurt like a m............. (fill it in people)

Went back today after pitching a fit.

due to hypo/Hashi - thyroidism........... my gums are starting to reseed away from my teeth and some food particle ( HENSE popcorn husk I ate the Thursday before the pain started) is stuck in there.

Nothing we can do about either the reseeding of the gums or the seed that is stuck. Just sit here with a swollen jaw until it works it's way out --- or dissolves. Like a sliver you can't get out of your skin!

but gave me Vicadin again for pain. GREAT :(  I keep flossing to rid this feeling of pressure!!

This Thyroid cr@p really ticks me off and know -- down the road my teeth will probably fall right out of my mouth b/c of this stuff.

Another feature gone soon of mine that makes me happy. First I lost hair - then gained weight now zits and teeth falling out - What a gem I will become!!

Well inshort my day yesterday

I was soooo uncomfortable. 898 gave me some advice I took with the white Oak Bark. I coun;dn't boil it at work - so I stff it in a used tea bag and jammed it in my mouth.

Along with that I flossed and made it bleed. I took a towel and soaked it with h202 and place it over the tooth. I was determined to get this out. I pulled and tugged in that crown for about 5 minutes with that towel. 

It seems to be slightly loose - but if it is - it is so small and very hard to tell.

Anyway by the time I got home - no pain - no swelling - just somewhat tender and woke with no discomfort

I think the bark helped. or I may have moved the crown back in place.

My teeth on that side just feels a little out of line right now.

I think I thyroid dumped over the antiboitics though - very tired and sore in the neck

Upping my supps today and getting a refill on my Armour. (fresh)

BTW - having trouble again getting my meds this month. I gotta buy 15mgs this time and I take anywhere fron 90mgs - to 120mgs.

I could be forced into taking 8 tablets through out the day. URGH!!

I hope this ends soon.

You never cease to amaze me. You know what's been happening lately, but to top it all I've also lost half of 2 of my teeth. They've just fell off, just like that 2 wks ago! And my gums are so sore all this year and I never knew why!

I was diagnosed with Hashi's when I had my PT in March. I didn't know Hashi's caused gum disease. I did go to the denist for a cleaning two weeks ago and my dentist told me I had the beginnings of receeding gums and gum disease. What the heck else do I have to look forward to because of the Hashi's?????

I have the acne too! I mean on my back and back of neck... THEY HURT TOO!!! I itch sometimes that is horrible! Boy, toothless, whiteheads, no hair.. Cant wait for the pic!!!

Speculated that antiboitics eat good bacteria out of the intensines (flora) and it taked the body alot to replenish that flora.

Hense hormones shift - and TSH goes high to reproduce. With no thyroid and only counting on meds to convert - it's more of a struggle.

I wish my teeth looked as good as little chiclets.  At 35, I thought I would not have any gum/teeth problems. 3 root canals (2 in one tooth) one pulled a few weeks back, and nasty gum recession...Can you say Dentures????

Hello.  Chiclet's are little square pieces of chewing gum.  Come in cute little square boxes...use to be very popular, still around though!

OH MY GOSH .. I'd be picking at that tooth too..........they could slice open the gum I would suppose and do what is called a periactal but that seems drastic; however, if this thing gets infected again and/or the pain continues you don't need Vicadin to mask it if they can get it out after a reasonable am't of time given to work its way out like a splinter!  I broke a tooth on a Chiclet once .. never ate them again!  

Sorry about the hypo stuff now with your gums.

Ok, you got a big sledge hammer? You get this big sledge hammer and you lift it and you swing and you hit your head several times....the theory is that after a half hour of this, you will forget aaaaaallllll about the tooth pain and start to concentrate on the head pain! Then you will suddenly say,"Ah HA! No more tooth pain!" Hee hee.
  I'm there with you! Let's be brave about our teeth and just get them all taken out! Actually on second thoughts, soup might be great way to lose weight but I do like my crunchy chippies!

Try to flush your mouth with oversaturated salt solution with 2 drops of iodine solution; when inflammation subsidizes , get oak bark shaving [naturopat{spelling} pharmacy may have this] and flush your mouth prior the bed time.
I have really sensitive gums and use this routine.

Let is out sis!    Yeah, my gums are doing the same thing too and anything hot, cold, sweet, crunchy . . . all drives me crazy.  Add that to the ongoing sinus problems from the RAI and I feel for you.  Scream and yell - this condition has so many components to it that we never have heard about (until this forum).

Now about the hairloss, weight gain, zits and receding gums...Are we related???  Are we long lost twin sisters?

I have been having a lot of problems with my teeth too.....receeding gum lines....infections, etc. I have never had bad teeth or problems until thyroid problem. And have strange reactions to antibiotics too!! Think it is due to the hashi's?? Boy can I emphathize with you....my teeth hurt like he//!!! 
I thought about trying the new proenamel toothpaste they are advertising, to see if I can restrengthen and restore where gums are receeding. Have you tried anything?

I feel you on the achy gums and the adult acne - but I obviously don't have a thyroid problem (according to those nice standards of blood tests) :(  Rant on Sister, Rant on!
