Questions About TNA

by SchnauzerLover, Dec 23, 2008 12:09AM
I'm now into my second week of living with TNA.  I was diagnosed by a clinic doctor who works with my own family doctor.  He gave me some shots and sent me home.  The shots did help for a day and a half...then I began using my own medications that do seem to work at relieving the pain a few hours after onset.  Since I have read some information on this and I am relatively new to dealing with this I need some answers that I have not yet read the answers to.  Question 1 - Does this pain ever go away on its own without medication?  Question 2- It seems as if I have read over and over again people continuing to suffer with this condition.  If there are surgical procedures that can help why are these people not getting the surgical treatments?  I did read in some cases the TNA can return.  Is there a limit to how many surgical treatments a person can have?  Question 3 - How long must a person suffer this pain before the can have the surgical procedures?

Now a little information about me.  I do have a family doctor I do trust to get me the right help available.  I am a middle aged female who has had vascular disease (PAD).  I've had several vascular surgeries.  My last surgery 5 mos ago I have been dealing with staph infection in an incision ever since.  I've wondered if there is a relationship between the two.

I have taken Lyrica and Cymbalta but for other problems associated with fibromyalgia.

I hope someone can answer these questions for me.

Try looking up ENAR (electo neuro adaptive regulator)  The company "Enlightened Therapies"sells the device and is based in Sydney however there are therapists all over Australia. I run a pain therapy clinic on the Sunshine Coast and in the past decade have treated similar problems a multitude of times. You would expect pain relief immediatly following your first treatment but may need several follow up treatments to correct the brain/nerve response depending on the level of damage to the nerves involved.
