Can a sling placed after a hysterectomy fail?

Was recently given a CT scan for possible hernia, negative.  Still have pain in lower right abdominal area and down into groin.  Also now experiencing some pain when defacating, and occassionally have trouble starting to urinate.  The pain when deficating is more up inside, not at actual rectum.  Lots of bloating, and gas.  Had a total Hysterectomy several years ago, and had a sling put into place.  Is it possible fthat the sling has failed?

Symptoms associated with failure of a mid urethra sling done for stress urinary incontinence would be leaking of urine with activities such as coughing, laughing, jumping, etc.
