Bone Metasis

HI,

I've undergone a total thyrodectomy due to multiple goiters and my fine needle was negative for cancer, however post surgery found out that I do have thyroid cancer, and have under gone radioactive iodine treatment a couple of time. After my 1st treatment the cells in the region of the neck were cleared but we found a "hot spot" in the left paretial bone in the skull...have gone through 2 stronger iodine treatments and this "hot spot" hasn't cleared - neither spread. Else where all is clear - and have been asked to go through the treatment again - which at this point in time I don't want to. Was wondering if there are other treatments available, and also if I do refuse iodine treatment, what could possibly happen?

This discussion is related to Thyroid Metastasis.

Are the absolutely certain its cancer and not some other reason it is lit up?  I could be wrong but couldn't another type of "infection" cause the light up?

Roman, I've been nothing but exceptionally healthy since you pointed me in the direction of that raw diet.  Even my labs show it so don't go away!

I have poked around looking at this doctor's credentials.

They are embarrassingly dismal. He treats patients without even examining them. What kind of doctor would treat one for ANY serious disease without an initial examination?

Dr. Robert B. Wickman.

Again and again and again, according to the Arizona board that pulled his license.

Thypatient is being kind in her assessment of this fraud.

He wouldn't even show up, or hire an attorney to represent him when Arizona jerked his license.

"Robert B. Wickman, D.O. The Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery revoked Dr. Wickman's license upon determining he fraudulently represented to a board investigator that a solution of L-Arginine, a notorious quack cure sold as Tumorex, and DMSO was an effective and successful treatment for cancer, and had maintained a referring and fee dividing relationship with an illegal practitioner of medicine."

The PDF file of the transcript goes into much more detail, all of it negative.

If he's doing anything in Florida other than sitting on the beach, he is probably breaking the law. Buying more testimonials to put on his website (that screams SHAM), no doubt.

What kind of doctor would go into business with another doctor who has no license? A quack with no morals.

From his website;

"Because all diseases are living entities operating on specific frequencies, by bombarding these diseased organisms with their resonant frequencies and destroying them, we attack the the root cause of the disease not just the symptom."

That would be hilarious if he wasn't presenting it as the truth. The man is a fraud.

I don't have an answer for RO914, but neither does this charlatan.

I guess we will have to respectfully disagree.

I realize this thread is about giving R0914 ideas and she/he can accept or reject anything.  It’s just hard to have looked at that website and not have a reaction.  The blood testing involves pricking your finger, smearing it on a form you fill out and sending it to this man.  That cost $100.00.

Like you not being against conventional medicine, I’m not completely against alternative medicine (also not completely ga-ga for convention medicine either).  But alternative medicine has to be put in its place too.  Because it’s not as regulated, there’s more to get away with - all while making money.

Near where I live/work is one of the original havens for all this (think, “…back to the garden…”). While there’s some really reputable practitioners of this kind of medicine, there’s also a lot of either rejects from the medical field, wannabes who stared out the window during biology class or people once diagnosed with a mental illness.  All of them sound great though.  And people come from all over and pay lots of money.  Around here they say the biggest guarantee you’ll get is always another prompt appointment!

There’s usually another side to every story, isn’t there?  I went to a director screening of a documentary movie about a woman with breast cancer who, after her first appointments with a conventional dr, opted to go for alternative medicine.  Well, she’s not in the end of the movie.  Guess why?

BTW – From what I was told, know what reputable practitioners of alternative medicine tell you to do when you present with a thyroid issue? Pursue conventional medicine.

Take care.

I did not believe that you were referring to me as a predator but thankyou for clarifying.Trust me skepticism is very healthy. However in this particular case with this particular Dr we will have to respectfully disagree as i have seen his work first hand with young and old.He is up front about his bio and his conviction was later thrown out.
I have lived in Africa,Japan,Kuwait, panama,Dominican republic,Italy and Greece. My sister and father were both cured of their cancers naturally and my mother died from breast cancer from conventional methods. As i said before i am certainly not against conventional medicine but i am fully aware that there are other methods available.
I care about the health of my fellow forum members very much as they were quick to offer encouragement and advice when i was diagnosed. So in this respect i would not pass on any information to them that was not credible.Ultimately we must all decide what is best for our own health. We all want the same thing which is to live long healthy lives and be there for our family.Any information i pass on is intended to do just that.

You’re right about that and it’s why I included the words ‘in my opinion’ in my post.

I do want to clarify something though:  My use of the word ‘predator,’ and I do mean to use that word, was directed toward the doctor on the website, and maybe Mr. Brewer – but not toward you.

Let me ask?  Can you see how, after reading a bio that describes a so-called American doctor who lost his medical license, went through a conviction mess and now has to live in Ecuador in order to practice medicine could be construed as disturbing?  Then add on top of that being familiar with that part of the country and these types of issues that occur there all too often (particularly directed toward the elderly)?

Honestly, I can think of a lot of really great reasons to go to Melbourne, the pelicans and cranes for starters, but I can’t envision going there to meet this doctor.  I think the authorities would probably find that more interesting.

BTW – I didn’t and don’t plan on taking survey of everyone on this board.  If I were to instigate such, this will be my last post.

To you I too say:  ‘To good health.’  And I really hope it safely stays that way.

Sorry for what you are going through.  The other option for you at this point would be external-beam radiation (the type of radiation treatment other cancer patients get).

bone metastases can be difficult to control with RAI but the external beam seems to have a pretty good result - especially if the area is small.

recurrence and RAI '06 and probably '08

Those options were available to him but he declined. His daughter who has a degree in molecular biology told him to explore other options.Mr Brewer is 72 and did not want to go through harsh treatments. He is very willing to share his information along with many others.I first came across his story on stopdoingcancerdotcom. After i read his story i realized he lived less than 2 miles from me so i contacted him.His email and phone number are posted on that website. In my last 2 years since my thyca diagnosis ive learned to separate bad info from good info.If i had thyca with possible brain mets than i certainly would want somebody to inform me off all options wether it be conventional or alternative.
here is another site of a husband and wife here in orlando who used the same treatments as Mr Brewer.

its interesting to read the daily journal they kept while undergoing treatment

I am curious after reading that article. During the 26 months that Mr.Brewer remained at that stage, did he undergo any treatment?  I have known several people with multiple myeloma and it is not anything you want to take a "wait and see" attitude for 26 months. The people I know were treated guickly and aggressively with chemo and bone marrow transfer.

That is your opinion.I have met this man personally as well as many others.I have also seen all his medical records from moffitt cancer center in tampa.I also will be meeting the Dr here in melbourne fl in June.Come meet him and make up your own mind.As a Thyca survivor myself my intention is to pass on good information from credible sources.Should you not choose to accept the information then that certainly is your right.I am not against conventional medicine as it has cured me so far.My only intention is to pass on helpful information that i have personally verified. If everyone on this board thinks that i am not trying to pass on helpful info then make no mistake this will be my last post

I looked at the site mentioned, especially after seeing the words ‘central FL’ – a ‘Mecca’ for predators who prey on the innocent.  It’s utterly disturbing (Just reading the bio - oy)!

There might be other treatments but, in my opinion, they won’t be found via this route.

malawi:  Please, please, for your own well-being, please stay away from this nonsense.

There are other treatments available.I recently have met several people who have been cured of a variety of cancers(including bone, lung and liver)in as little as 5 to 6 weeks using no chemicals or surgery. They went to see an american Dr in Ecuador.
Here is one of the people i met so you can check out his story.

Mr Brewer was cured of bone cancer in 6 weeks. He lives less than a mile from me here in central FL.He welcomes any emails of phone calls.

What dose of RAI did you receive. Perhaps the initial dose was too low.  I had some spread to the rib and lung, as well as the lymph nodes, but a dose of 200mci seems to have done the job.

I, too, am sorry for what you're going through, but agree that maybe it's time for a second opinion.

I can't answer your question but just wanted to lend my support.  I'm sorry you're going through this.  It sounds tough.  But if in the longer run it helps to go through another treatment, it sounds worth it.

Can you get a second opinion, perhaps?
