2 Week Check-In

Today marks day 14 for me! I'm so happy I made it! The first couple of days were rough, and the days following those were a little hairy, and now just a lingering w/d here and there. I've sneezed a million times in the past week (what's up with that?) and certain smells are driving me nuts (I realized I HATE the smell of Pantene Pro V Conditioner and Dove deodorant). Even though I'm annoyed by certain smells, it's pretty cool to be smelling things again! Yesterday I learned NOT to take L Tyrosine after 4pm (not good for when you try to go to bed :). Well I hope everyone is having a good day and for those just starting out, it really does get better! Just push through one day at a time. Thank God for this forum and the wonderful people that have been supporting me. You all help to save lives :).

And the few Old Timers are just still ticking away in there Years..

Thanks ya'll, today was a good day, but now I'm exhausted and ready to go to bed! Oh and I rocked it at work today. I thought I wouldn't be sharp w/o pills and I was wrong! Sharper than ever, at least for today! Haha!

Wow 14 days- woohoo! Stay vigilant in your recovery....you are doing great!  Like the screen name too...we must have had the same mindset when making up a screen name...very optimistic.  Well, there isn't anything wrong with that, is there?! ;)  Congrats!!

Congrats on your day 8!!! I know...living again is so fun (even though right now it's exhausting)! Quitting is the best decision ever!

Yahoo!!!!! Today is day 8 for me:) I took my two year old to the playground and we had a blast!!! What a change from the days I would just let him play them make nap early because I just wanted to take my pills and lie down! Life is beautiful!!!!!! Congrats to you all!!!!!!

Congrats on two weeks!  Glad to hear you are feeling better; and the smells and sneezing....LOL!  So true!  I think I sneezed for 2 months (they got fewer each day, but still served as little reminders of the H*** I survived & why I NEVER want to go back!).  Keep it up, and with each sneeze may you get stronger and feel better and better :))

Yeah, the pom pom squad! Hahaha! It really DOES feel good to be living again! I can't believe how much better I'm feeling and I'm only 2 weeks in! I wasn't expecting to feel this good. Now I know for sure that I need to keep my guard up (no pink cloud-ing here ;p)!!

You all are doing wonderful, too! It's been amazing being able to go through this with all of you! A girl couldn't have a better supportive team :)!

I hear you on both the multiple sneezes (it's a histamine response thing, btw.) & The SMELLS. (oh the smells really drove me nuts!) If those products are bugging you, get yourself something all natural [much healthier, anyway!] Here's to your continued sobriety! (Smile)
