So heres the deal
Benn on oy for approx 2 years. Started with 10 mg for fun until I was at 160-190 mg/day. Took 2 weeks off work and my wife took a week also
Sheen a doc and heprescribed clonidine and vallium 10mg.
Detox day 1 Took 20mg long action and 10 mgs to sleep Feel like hell...
Day2 took 10 mg at night to sleep but made the sleeping thing worst so I was up all night I wish there was only 10 hours in a day lol Hot baths help alot
Day 3 Feel like crap the vallium takes aways all my energy but helps the process alot, once again,10mg to sleep and this time i slept for about 3 hours untill my body wanted more.....Oh yeah, I take 0.1 mg clonidine 4x a day.
So its not really cold turkey but today I will go see a dr for something to help me sleep instead of the 10mg os oxy

So here I am on day 4 523 am and lots on my mind.....Is the 10mg that bad or is it gonne go away......
plz reply asap and lemme know where I stand
Tx guys and gals Nick
hey Nick,
If you were taking 160-190 mg per day then the 10 mg isn't going to do anything for you. The best thing you can do is to get rid of them. You are already in full wd now and the only thing they will do is stretch it out a few more days.
I think that the best way to get back to your old habit is to keep taking those 10's. Dump them and join the party!!!
You can do this. If you have 2 weeks off you should be doing pretty well by then. Trust us, the sleep will come back.

Well saw a dr this morning and he suggested suboxone but am already on my 4th day. He gave me a really good sleeping med called Zopiclone 15mg at bed time. Right now I just feel like when I quit smoking and the craving is awfull. I have alot of vallium and clonidine to help out. Flushed my last 10s but they didnt help at all...well maybe for a 30 min nap lol. I didnt get any leg cramps or anuthing I started taking potassium pills earlyer this week so thats a good thing.I just wish I could talk to someone in my situation at any given time say like 3 am 1pm wuthever...
Hey again,
I think that was a smart move to dump the 10's. Great job on that.
As for the sub, I have zero experience with it other than what I have learned here. I know some who have had great results and others who curse it. Do your homework and decide what is best for you.
If you can't sleep, there are often others here in the same situation. Come here and post and someone will usually be around to answer.
Have you thought of NA or an addiction counsellor??? Both would go a long way to dealing with your "stuff" right now.
You're doing great, everything you describe is normal.
Keep keeping and things will get easier,

Sub has worked for some and I can understand that but it is a very strong opioid that will leave you in the same situation as far as addiction and dependency but the withdrawals can last longer due to its long half-life. I would encourage you to continue through this rather than go backwards.
Day 4 is an achievement and you are almost through the initial phase of detoxing - just try to keep your head up, continue posting and possibly seek some aftercare so that you will have the skills you need to stay clean.
Best of luck to you and you are doing great. Use this forum as an outlet for your feelings, all of which are normal.
Well u guys are a lifeline!!!! I tried to get some sleep this afternoon but decided not to and save all that sleepeness for tonight. Went out with the kids to decorate for halloween. I am able to walk fine its the gitters that are the worst for me. Ive heard bad things about suboxone so I will try my dardest to stay on track.
This afternoon I will try to burn myself out, have a good supper watch a flick take a 1h bath, take my clonidine, snack and pop those famous sleeping pills... But Ill be back here sooner so keep up the post guys u atre helping me alot :)
I'm glad you got a little sleep. It makes a world of difference. As soon as the sleep starts to come back, the other stuff gets better quickly.
Be careful taking the l-tyrosine in the afternoon or evening because it can really make you jittery and make sleep even tougher. I could only take it in the morning but it did get me going.
I hope you have immodium for the runs. Take lots of it if need be, it really helps.
It sounds like you are turning the corner on this and that is really cool to hear. Very happy for you.
Hang in there it will keep getting better and great job so far!!!
