agree with avisg....i started posting on the forum a few weeks before i quit...some lurk around and read and do not post til they are ready...a forum dedicated to getting ready to make the decision to quit may be kinda self defeating...a bunch of people that cant make up their minds or are not ready may not be a good influence on u if u r serious about quitting one day...most people take a while thinking about quitting before they quit...i think it is normal...all are welcome here i would think
hey it helps me knowing that your here posting...if you didnt want to get off pills you wouldnt be here. hang in there. and keep posting.
I do think the diversity here lends a little something special to the forum. If you have done this stuff a few times you should be able to lend some advice to real new comers...and if you are still just watching - theres nothing wrong with that. Most people on this forum (I was one) have read it for a while before actually posting. So there are people here at all stages from quite active addiction to relapsers to success stories. It took me a lot (read about 40) years to get to this place. And its a good place to be......
thx bobby, i quess ill just keep ploughing on till im ready. my last w/d was from 24mgs suboxone and its put me off for life! it was hell.
I tend to agree with Avis, I liked this forum cuz it dose show all stages, so it gives u hope and shows what you will be going threw and also shows there can be relapses but also shows that you can get off your DOC. so i think this is a good place to be no matter what point of recovery your in.
god bless
bobby
the eagles comment says it all re any welcome!!
oh well just a thought, ive done it too many times and i thought if i could really get to the bottom of why, i could get off and stay off but i appreciate your thoughts, louise
I have to say having people in all stages of recovery was what appealed to me the most about this site . If I had not seen people early in withdrawl and others that had been clean for months then I would have been unsure whether I could do it .I think I would have spent a lot more time "thinking and talking about getting clean" without actually doing it .So my opinion I don't think it would be a very good idea.
I believe the magazine "High Times" has a web site......
