Can quit Norco after 17 years?

I've been taking hydrocodone for more than 17 years. Started with the 500 mg , now take Norco for many years. I have realized that these pills make you kind of stupid, not think clearly... isn't that funny after so many years!!  Well, I am down to two pills a day. I read something about cutting down by 25 % after 4 days... So, I don't know what to do.. not to mention, I have to count on myself... I am scared to just quit since I've taken them for so many years... I cut down by more than half this past week and i've been sick enough to stay mainly in bed. Horrible headaches, asperins, stomach aches, intestinal problems... Aching... my entire body aching.. So, my question is, WHAT WILL HAPPEN after I stop them???? and what??? I dont' know what to expect... This time I am determined to completely QUIT them.. They are BAD NEWS.. cause more pain when you take them too long.. So, I look forward to much less pain once I quit these pills.. and to be able to think clearly again!!! YAY!!! Anybody know what I should expect please?? Pretty please??

Yes, the side pain too... all the way up my back and lower back.. the pain in my legs is getting less and less every day! That's a real relief! I still don't feel normal.. I feel tired and achey... even while sitting and lying down.. but, not unbearable unless I stand...

Thank you, you were right! It is getting much better now... on day 4!!! YAY!! Just the pain is my issue.. I am using tylenol and aspirins.. Thank you though, it is getting better... the w/d I mean.. : O )

Hi, I am okay... but my pain level when I try to do anything is very bad. I went out yesterday and visited and did some things that needed doing and the pain was too extreme.. I had to hurry with everything I did.. sit on the ground.. I wasn't at my best thats for sure.. but, at least I got out and I am glad I did even though the pain... THANK YOU!!!! You don't know what a relief your message is to me!! I have been so scared since yesterday that that pain is just what it is.. and I will have to deal with that some how.. From your comment I see that it will get even better!!!  THANK you so very much Bub.. : O )
