PLEASE, tell me how much longer.

I have been completely off the vicodin for 8 days now, almost 9.

I feel terrible.
And nights are just horrid

Restless Legs, Restless Arms. Terrible.

So many said that this would end after day 5.
The drugs must be out of my system by now.....
why do I still feel so bad?

the soap thing DOES work....really does....my mom and dad both use it....they are older and use it to prevent leg cramps at night though....they both swear by it and use it every night

also, another remedy i've found is to put something like Biofreeze on your legs at night (which is something similar to Ben Gay) -- worked for me and i remember hearing from someone else it worked for him/her, too

My legs gave me fits Hon.  I have heard that soap trick works.  I used a heating pad under my legs in bed and that helped.  But, that was more for the hurting.  Hang in there, you are almost there and you will be so glad you did.  Just think, a new life.
No more Pills calling your name. woohoo!  Be strong.  You can do this.  TJack

I know this sounds crazy and I can not swear to this remedy as I did not have RLS....exercising each day i think kept it away....i am not sure but when I quit i was quitting with 3 others on here and staying in touch...i work out daily, the other was a dance teacher...we did not have it but the two who were not active did have it....dont know...also one used the chinese detox patches on the bottom of her feet each night and said it helped...they stick onto your soles and have herbs in them...in the morning they are all gooey and black...who knows...I have also heard people swear by the soap...

Sarah, Im detoxing off methadone & have also detoxed from oxicotin many times, I had the rls, with the oxicotin withdrawals for about 3 days then it went away, some of us may suffer more then others, I feel for ya, I to am having some hard times but it does get better, its been 5 days since I took my last 1mg of methadone & the first 3 days were the worst, like I said, its all a matter of time. Im not sure if this makes a difference but prior to my detox I started to take calcium & magnesium, to ensure no rls, & I havent had one problem with that symtom. I really hope you feel better soon & keep in mind, you are not alone, hang in their!! Penelope

I just read about something called "Muscle Mist" that is supposed to help.  I actually read it when I googled the Soap Trick.. which I had never heard of before.. it said with the soap you put it under your legs and something with the pressure is supposed to help. It should be a new bar of soap.

Sarah, hang in there. I know its tough. but trust me its worth it, I am almost 10 months free from pills and I wouldn't go back no matter what. Livng on this side is way better..

Hi Sarah, Im on day 12 from ct Vic wd. I actually feel pretty good. I'm only getting 5-6 hrs sleep but I'm handeling that better. My physical wd was done and I began to feel beter day 4-5. Its gotten better everyday almost but don't get me wrong...not totally normal. I'm having some anxiety and mood swings...energy is low but coming back. Once you start sleeping better I think you'll see a big difference...and that can happen overnight. God Bless and I will pray for sleep for you. Corey

Thanks r2r.

For some reason your posts always help me.

I also admire the fact that you would still come here to help us even though you've been clean for so long.

I wished i would of kept a journal...I will say for me the sleep was about 10 days...The RLS kicked my butt at night...I did not try the bar of soap but heard it works...you can google it, it is called the "soap trick"...
Please dont give up...I promise it will get better...We have damaged our brains so bad, that it just takes time....I have 7 months now, and i dont' even remember who that person was, or the things i was doing to get pills..
Stay strong

I was kind of wondering if those who had been quit for a while might have forgotten just how long it took.

Do you mean just put a bar of soap in bed...lol.
Did you try that?

Maybe lying there thinking how stupid you are for putting a bar of soap in your bed helps you forget about the pain??

It should be getting better soon, I have heard that a bar of soap in the bed helps, no joke, I had problems sleeping for a while, but the worst was over after about a week or two, it's been a while and my timeline is gettting a little distorted
