Help kicking Methadone

Hi I just got down to 10 milligram of methadone a day.....I am soon going to get it to 5 mil total a day...Does anyone have an idea how long the sleeplessness and no energy thing last...I'm thinking of going thought the withdrawl and when the no sleep happens.. I then use valuim or xannax for sleeping..I need to work and my work is physically demanding....Anyone got any helpful hints on a easy way to go about this...

Hi the energy thing can last a wile as for the sleep its different for everyone both have a lot to do with how long you where on it and how high of dose...the longer and higher the dose the longer the withdrawal and post withdrawal I was up to 150ml and my habbit was 6 1/2yrs long so my withdrawal was long...the physical part was over in about 7 days with some lingering symptoms that lasted 2 weeks...its the energy crash that get debilitating
at first it will seam hopeless dont get discouraged with time it gets better but for me I notice a slight improvment at 30 days again at 60 days and 90 days was the turning point for me thing really started improving but I still had a ways to go today I have 201 days clean and life is a beautiful place once again it was a long road out but it is so so worth it once you get there ...now would be a good time to check into some sort of aftercare it is an absolute necessity coming off methadone ...N/A or A/Ai are free and a good place to start if its not a good fit for you try a substance abuse conslor..you will need all the support you can get coming off methadone plug in somewhere ..keep posting with your progress the last 10ml are the hardest so try and hang in there

I was addicted to methadone for 5 yrs!! It's a hard drug to get off of! At one point I thought I was dying. I've been clean of methadone since may 06-2009!!!! I've been an opiate addicted for ten yrs and I'm only 29! I've been clean off of lortabs foe 14 days. I still take Xanax for anxiety and sleep. Please don't geet on the methadone I've been there and it's no good!!!!!!
