Help

Here I am aagain. This time it's 4 Methadone which was 2 help me get off the vicodin. I've been taking vicodin, norcos & 4 the last 2 months methadone over the course of the last 4 years. The Methadones were 10mg & I tapered down to 5mg, and then 2.5mg. The first 2 days were hell and I slept thru it with the help of klonopines. I am now on day 6, but am still feeling really restless-especially my legs, I'm sweating like crazy still, feel like I weigh 500 lbs, and have no energy. I started taking 1000 mg of L Tyrosine but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions or knows how long this will last? I have 2 kids & I  feel like i'm going nuts

You can do this. It just takes time. Take each day as it comes and don't go back to more methadone. I hate that they give a narcotic to get off a narcotic. Its complete insanity and it doesn't work. I know its hard the withdrawls are a nightmare and the aniexty and the shakes and the feeling like your going crazy. Its all such a tough thing to go through, but know this. Each day gets a little easier and a little easier. We are addicts. We can't take anything that effects our minds without wanting more and more. Remember you can do this. FOCUS and if you believe pray to god to help you make it through the day.

You have done a good job and I sorry you got hooked on methadone for vicodin abuse. It's happening more and more and it like using gasoline to put out a fire. You have made it through the worst it seems and easier than some. keep up the good work.

its tough, I know what its like.  but realize it can be done with pure determination and total focus. your getting through the hard stuff, few more days or so and you will start feeling better. then after that you might be draggin @zz  for awhile.  best to get out of it now before you get in a worse jam, with the 'done.

good luck !

I never took methadone but did take norco for quite awhile. I have been through withdrawals about 5 times over the last 4 years or so. I also have 2 children and had to care for them as I was mr. mom after my back injury. So during the day I had to care for them while my wife was at work. What helped me the most was eating healthy, pushing the fluids, and exercising. It can seem almost impossible to get out and go for a run or walk but force yourself to do so. I know while I was jogging I hardly noticed the withdrawals. This will also help by your body releasing natural endorphins and will speed everything up.Take as many hot baths as you want. It will help with the restless leg thing before bed. Have you been taking anything else from the amino acid protocol? I have read that you should take vitamin B-6 with the tyrosine to help your body fully absorb it. Just keep going strong and remember that it will get better! Best of luck!
