What is up with all this anxiety???

I am on day 15 of cold turkey from Norco about 40 mgs a day.  I had been doing pretty good, but now all of a sudden, I am suffering from severe anxiety.  I'm also in a job that I want out of, but can't just quit because I am trying to transfer to another agency within the state.  I do have an interview for this new agency on Thursday, but with all this anxiety, I'm scared that I will f*** it up........please help.

Hey, it's jimi I saw in your thread that you want to take Ativan or Xanax most Psychiatrist's that I know would "Never" prescribe these medications because they are very easy to become dependent on. Ativan is a very Strong, Fast acting sedative I'm an EMT and do medical transports that's what they give to Psych Pt's who are combative before we transport them. As for Xanax it's a "Short" acting anti-anxiety medication and can be Very addictive because it has such a short half life. My Psychiatrist prescribed Clonazepam, generic for Klonopin for me several years ago I only take one @ night and it helps me sleep and keeps my anxiety in check for 24 hours. Clonazepam has a much longer half life and doesn't give you that temporary high feeling you get with Xanax so your much less likely to become addicted to Clonazepam. That being said I would find a good Psychiatrist that specializes in Substance Abuse/Dependency issues and let the he/she prescribe the proper medication because we're all different with different Variables. Stay strong, and be careful to not substitute one addiction Norco, for another Xanax/Ativan. Your in my heart felt Prayers and Blessings.

This is going to sound funny, but it works for me.   When I have an anxiety/panic attack, I lie on the floor at work and do deep breathing.  If I need to, I put a folding chair upside down and put my feet up on it.  Then I deep breathe and visualize blowing all my problems into a hot air balloon and watching it float away while I'm lying on a beautiful sunny meadow.  :)

Also you may talk to your Dr about Visteril. It's an antihistamine, but prescribed for anxiety as well. And not really addicting, but I believe anything can be, mentally addicting, so like anything, use with caution.

If they are RX'd, and your anxiety is so severe, I would try taking ( not together). But only when you need them. They are highly addictive as you know.
I have been on Xanax for 15 years. I'm not mentally addicted, but I'm sure physically I am. But what you describe, I feel every day.

Many people use something like Klonopin or Xanax short term to deal with a traumatic event like a death or divorce.

Short term is the key. I don't always take all three RX'd everyday to me. I learned breathing techniques and stuff.

Good luck on getting the job. Let us know!!

they will help just use small doses, you dont need a new addiction, take only when you are really having bad anxiety and small doses, especially with xanax, GOOD LUCK!!!

Exactly how I feel man. I wa taking about the same amounts of norcos.
But no puking here just really bad hot/cold sweats really bad anxiety and constipation. I have no will to eat or even drink liquids sometimes. Just keep busy man don't go back from what I hear it get better I'm still freaking out as bad as you are but I did my best to put that feeling aside. Go do what YOU like todo man. I love working on Hondas and that's what I do to take my mind off of it. Just relax man we are all here to help each other.

I feel all jittery inside like my chest is going to explode.  My mind constantly wonders about this job situation and makes my neck tighten up and I eventually end up pucking.  My heart pounds too
