I agree with rxqueen, but for one suggestion ... tylenol is useless as an anti-inflammatory (which may address muscle soreness and anything else that might be swollen), so if Advil double-strength works for you, then use it instead. Also, if you overdo it on the Advil (Don't! But sometimes it's hard to keep track of what you're taking --keep a daily journal with dosage and times is essential.), you won't be inflicting damage on your liver.
Even good old Aspirin -- enterically coated, 'cause your stomach (which has to be ulcer-free in this case) will bleed a little (nothing alarming; happens to everyone) is a good anti-inflammatory ...
So many people (including just regular folks, with picket fences, two-car garages, unbearable children, clip-on ties, an above-ground pool in the backyards for the kids to play, eight-foot high-definition tv's, weedless lawns, Leave It To Beaver DVD box-sets and this list is getting a bit long) take so much tylenol that it's being re-labelled to : Maximum Daily Dose -- 3000mg (down a thousand), because of liver problems. If it's the only thing that gives you pain relief, though, remember to stick to the 3000mg guideline.
Keep posting, get medical help if you can, and all the best,

I know that you feel comfortable on the pills, thats how I feel right now. Its comforting knowing you have them, and its comforting being on them because you're so used to the routine. You need to gain the will power to stop, because you have already taken the first step in knowing that it is wrong to be taking them. I know you can do it. even if you have to buy some, and taper off of them, although some aren't successful tapering if they don't have anyone to control the doses they are receiving. Since you've taken the first step, the next step is to figure out a plan on how to stop. You can either cut it off CT and take vitamins and tylenol to make you as comfortable as possible during the withdrawals, or you can minimize the withdrawals by tapering down slowly then going CT. You may want to ask on here about the vitamins you can take to keep your energy up, and the things you can take to help you sleep at night such as tylenol PM or benadryl. You also want to look at some aftercare because once you stop, your emotions are going to be haywire. Antidepressants can help, but I would advise only to take them under severe cases. I wish you the best of luck, and keep posting on here so we can know your progress.
Sorry to not quite be "adding" to the current conversation. I have a Major problem with pain pills. Lortab mostly. I take as many a day as i can get my hands on. I can take about 6-7 10s w/o getting noticeably messed up. I can't stop. I like the feeling too much- but i know at some point i have to stop. if i can't find LTs, i buy dilaudeds. i don't shoot them up, i just mix them in a syringe and give them to myself just like a shot in my hip. If i had more of a will to stop, i think i could- but the problem is- i'm so damn functional even while on them. probably even more than when i'm not. how do i stop liking them so much and move on? i just know i can't keep on like this or my liver will fail before i'm 30. Help!
good afternoon so may i ask exactly what you are doing trying to stop using or taper plus how long have you been using there are so many people on here willing to offer help so keep reading and posting we all know about the no energy what i did the second day i went cold turkey from 15 vic 10mg a day was goto gnc got a multi vitamin and fish oil capsules and AMP wheybolic extreme 60 it did help me alot in the beginning and even now so if there is anything more you need to get out keep talking it helps god bless you
If you give up now, at some point, you will have to stop again and the withdrawal does get worse each time you relapse.
Please hang on. A little bit of "uncomfy" is worth it to get to the other side. Try keeping yourself busy. Do something that you really like to do. Push fluids and get that **** out of your system.
Hold tight, it is almost over.
Yes you can do this....none of us wanted to feel like you are right now but it is all part of the process of getting the pills out of our system. This wont last forever. Get some Gatorade and bananas, try and eat some bland foods. Immodium works for the runs. Have you checked out the amino acids on the health pages?? Try and get up and move around and i know that sounds like a big chore right now but it will help. Hopefully your pain will lessen now as many of us had that happen after we quit using. You can do this!!! Think positive...........sara
Don't every apologize, you are not complaining!!! That is why this group is here! What is your story? What are you coming off of and for how long?
