need help

Hi,

I'm planning on doing a quick taper from 75 mg of oxycodone to 30mg a day. Do you think this is realistic?

Thanks, I needed to hear someone say it wasn't half as bad. The one time I did go cold turkey for only about 2 days was real bad because I had a huge hangover on top of it. I'm happy to say that I stopped drinking about 2 years ago, I just got up one day and the last thought on my mind was to stop drinking but for some reason I didn't drink that day or the next and now it's over 2 years later. I praying for something like that to happen with the pills--but I know it takes desire and work.

Some can taper some can't    I used oxy and other opiates. My addiction was so insane that I couldnt taper if I had more in the house.  But I used this forum and God to get clean. I used for around 8 years. Up to 100 mgs at the end. Sometimes more. I can HONESTLY say after the 5th day I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel.  I couldnt believe the withdrawal monster wasn't half as tough as I had imagined

Hi Downey.
I did a quick taper off lortabs, and I can tell you it IS possible. I cut my use in half, then tapered one to 2 per every 2 days. You will feel discomfort, and you will crave the pills, but it is doable.
I gave my pills to someone else to hold and dole out, and I highly suggest this, for we can easily convince ourselves that we GOT this, and then take another...which leads to another, etc.

If you just CANT quit cold turkey, then quick taper is indeed doable. I am proof.
Please be careful, and know that we are rooting for you...

Best,
Amy
