How are you doing on your Ultram w/d?
my zanaflex was 4mg tablets..On the bottle it says take 1/2 to 1 3 times a day...On day 2 is when i started taking them, and i took a whole one 3 times a day..On day 3 and 4 ( which or the worst for most) i took about 5 a day....After day 5 I took one at night to help sleep, but it did not help with sleep that much, nothing really did...Sleep takes a while....I also took requip and i didn't get any releif from it...But not saying it will not help you...
Firemedic is right, if you can walk, that helps the RLS alot..Even if it is just a little at first..
Also, I was very adjitated s/p? with anything and everything...make sure your wife understands it is not her fault, and you may be rude, or just want to be alone...that is very normal..
how long can u take off of work??
YOU can do this...Think of your health..This stuff is life or death
god bless

I just want to wish you luck.
You are in for a rough ride, but with support from the people here and from your wife, you WILL make it.
I took only 100mg/day of Ultram for 3 months after my thoracotomy, and am having w/d symptoms just coming off that! The legs are the worst (for me, anyway).
At night I take 1/2 of a Skelaxin (muscle relaxer) and some Melatonin, that relaxes me enough to sleep.
EXERCISE! I'm here to tell it helps - a lot. You don't have to go crazy - just a walk around the neighborhood is good.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks for all your input. I hope I have what it takes to quit and not succumb to what I am sure is going to be an unpleasant experience and lie my way to more tramadol. I really do want to quit. I'm just so scared of what's ahead of me the next two, or three days. I have planned to be off work, which will help some in that keeping my what will be obvious withdrawal symptoms to myself and my wife.
The 2mg, I had to break them in half at frist LOL I am such a sissy
What dosage of zanaflex did you use?
I used the zanaflex as well it really helped I swear by it now for pain most of the time it helps .I take it and motrin when my tmj acts up . I have not knowen anyone that has used the requip so I am not sure about that
Do you think the requip come in handy?
Thanks very much for your advice
That's the muscle relaxer I have. I've got about 40 of them. Don't know what it will take. I am glad to here that they will help me out a lot. I'm just dreading the next few days. No one to blame but myself.
Yes, my wife does know. Having her near is the only way I think I could get through what's a head of me.
Glad avis is here to help you.. I just wanted to tell you that I did take a muscle relax, called zanaflex, and this helped me sooo much...Hot baths at night, heating pads on my legs for RLS, or you can wrap them in ace bandages...immodium, is also a great help...LOTS, or fluids...
also I take it your wife knows? She can be of great support to you...If she doesn't understand are maybe wants to get on here, we can also try and help her through this..I am really glad you are taking this first step, life without these pills, is great...
Oh, and read alot on here, very good info....and ask as many questions you need to, we are here to help!!!

So, what I'm understanding is DO NOT take wellbutrin until after I'm through.
cache ,
Its actually known to cause sezuires as well. You may want to try that after you are off the tram .Just make sure you are careful if you use supplements to make sure there are not any interactions wellbutrin is actually one of the safer with supplements but don't start taking any until you stop the tram .you don't want to bump your serotonin level up to high :)
Have been reading up on wellbrutin (I'm sure the spelling is wrong) of which I still have some. It says that it also acts to help control seizures. Am I off base?
Sammy,
sure they can he has been getting it from other places other then his doctor .He may be able to report it but I don't think they would force the doctor to treat him. Most sub doctors wont prescribe sub for tram becuase its not considered an opiate but it does not hurt to call around your local area and ask you may find one that is very knowledgeable about addiction that will help.
Your doctor can't leave you twisting in the wind --Hippocratic Oath and all that-- so tell him/her you need to taper off the stuff. If that doesn't work, you have to find a new one.
Either that, or it's suboxone -- a relatively new, apparently improved version of Methadone.
What kind of doctor would do this? It's reportable.
LOL I understand not thinking you will able to exercise but even a walk helps that's what I did the first fews days .It was not easy my legs felt like they weighed 50 pnds a piece.
The amnio acid protocol is in the health pages look to the lower right of the screen .It has vitamin's and supplements that have been known to help durning WD .I use several of the it really helped as well .The first week was hell but by two weeks I felt really good . I will warn you I did not sleep the first 4 nights then it came back slowly. We are here to help :)
The prompt reply is most appreciated. Amino acid protocol? What in the world is that and how will it help me. As far as the exercise goes, I'll give it a try but I have the sneaking suspicion I won't want to do anything. I do know about the chance of seizure, but what can I do. I can't go to my doctor because he told me he'd have nothing to do with me if I got tramadol from another source, which is easy to do over the internet.

wow thats a big drop ...... I am sure you are aware of the seizure risk ,hopefully that wont happen .It is going to be a very rough week .The re quip and MRs might help a bit .Over all there may be aches, RLS, nausea ,the runs ,lack of sleep ,panic attacks ,depression. There are supplements that can help .Look in the health pages you will find the amino acid protocol.Exercise also speeds thing up I know how though that can be right now .I push myself to do it everyday and it really helped .I am here if you need to talk I have been clean almost a year .It can be done :)

Thanks for the input. 30 or 45 50m a day is not at all unusual. For the past three days, however I have dropped down to 10 50m a day. Yesterday I had 9. Today, which finishes up my script, I have taken 8.
The obvious problem is I have none to taper off. I do have some muscle relaxers and some Recript for RLS whch I hope will lessen the pain I know will come.
Welcome...My DOC was not ultram, but from what i have read you cannot stop ultram c/t...It is very dangerous, and should be tapered...How much were you taking.
Avis, is one that knows alot about this med...
I will try and get in touch with her to help you
