Oxycontin - 2nd day clean

My boyfriend hung himself about 2 months ago... ever since then I have been taking oxycontin to forget about the pain. I have been taking an upwards of 50 to 60 mg a day to function. Without it I feel like I am going to die. I have a huge history of addiction, starting with meth, vicodin, percocet and now oxy. I haven't had any in 2 days and I have muscle aches ALL over my body, I am tired and restless at the same time, I can't think straight, and I have missed my period (was due yesterday), depression.. . Are ALL of these withdrawal symptoms? If so, WHEN will they go away???

Hi & Welcome,

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Still, it is not an excuse to harm yourself and that is what you are doing.

You need help and you are not going about it the right way. I do suggest you get into a treatment program since you have a history. Quitting counseling because you felt better does not mean that you got to the root of the problem. If it helped you before, it will continue to do so if you keep going.

Your choice of how you are handling this devastating time should be a wake up call for you.

I hope you stick around and I truly hope you get the help you need.

No, I was in counseling for a while but I quit going because I was feeling better on the oxy. I wouldn't even know where to begin to find the time or the place for support groups...

Are you in any type of support program? Is rehab an option at all? Ever tried NA or AA?
