Hi,
I am sorry you are still not feeling well. The dose you were taking is considered low so I don't think that you would still be having stomach problems after two weeks. I think it would be in your best interest to get to your doctor for a good check-up. That way at least you can rule out anything else. Best of luck, I hope you get to feeling better.
Hi trixsix, Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the quit ! although you were on a very low dose you were using them for the wrong reasons. It was good you caught it early as it can quickly go from 1 to 30 a day.. into the 2nd week you should not be having a problem with extensive diarrhea so you may want to have this checked out by your Dr. something else could be going on. Do you exercise regularly ? If not it may help with energy.. changing up your diet to more veggies and fruits.. on the bottom right is the amino acid protocol vitamins and such.. many swear by them for energy and all around health.. If you have any questions Please feel free to ask and let us know how you are doing.. take care. lesa
Congrats on dropping the percs. Diarrhea is water like bowels. Most people think loose stools is diarrhea. I agree that you should consult your PCP. You might want to add a probity to your diet to regulate your system.
The high you were getting is called a paradoxical effect. or opposite. I too got that from opiates. Makes them very inviting for addictive behavior when that is what you are craving.
Might ask PCP to check your iron, b12 and Vit D levels for fatigue reasons. In meantime you can use supplements and see if that helps with being tired.
Thanks guys. I have not tried any real amino acid program (Bottom right?) but I can attest to the fact that vitamin supplements or B12 shots have never helped. My mother used to take me to the doc for B12 and iron shots when I was a kid. As it turns out I am anemic but Thalasemia Minor which does not respond to iron. Back in January I had my hemoglobin count done (pre-op) and it actually wasn't too terribly low. I also work out with a trainer 2-3 times per week. That also has never done anything for my energy level and my diet is pretty clean and pretty rich in veggies and fruits. It's a total mystery.
With regard to withdrawal -- I went from loose stool in the beginning to diarrhea now. That's why I say it's getting worse.
Sorry you are feeling so crappy! Pun intended! I would try imodiom first and do the baby brat diet. Bananas, rice and tea. Unfortunately prescription meds for diarrhea usually have some opiates in tthem and I'm pretty sure you don't want to go down that road at this time. I had a ten yr hx of opiate abuse so my wd was nasty. I lived in the bathroom for almost 3 weeks. Couldn't eat a real meal for almost 3 months and then only once a day. IT DOES GET BETTER!!!! Try the diet and imodiom and in two days if it is not better then you really do need to see a doctor. Important not to put too much in your system but keep hydrated. Drink lots of water and tea.
Still would suggest Vit d supplements.
Ok, I'll try that! Thanks.
