Possible relapse?????

I have been dreading this post, but I have to do it. I do not want to go into all the details of it, but I need to post. On Friday night, I got into a huge fight with my a$$hole spouse. Let's just say that I was in some major pain and so I took 3 Vicoden. The strength was 5/500....my DOC was Lortab 10/650. I took one pill every four hours starting at 4a.m. and ending at noon Saturday. By Saturday night, my stomach was in so much pain that I couldn't even walk, so I went to the ER, when I got there, my blood pressure was through the roof and they gave me an IV, then I was given 2 doses of Dilaudid (which I had never had before), and then 2 hours later, I got a 3rd dose of Dilaudid. I got a bunch of tests done and all the fun stuff, but my main concern is whether or not this is a relapse? I have not taken anything since the ER visit.

In my opinion a relapse is starting to use again, and keeping it up. What you did is nothing. Rest assured, everybody, at some stage, will do as you did. Don't sweat the small stuff, you're good.

I agree with the fact that this is not a relapse..I myself had to take a few pain pills because of my back..I know how much pain I am in and thats what matters. I however have not continued taking them. I took 2 one day and 2 the next day and have had nothing since. They also tried giving my a rx for 10 vicodin at the e.r and I also declined. I am worried more right now about why you are in pain..?????? I am VERY concerned about that..and yes..your blood pressure will be high when you are in that amount of pain..mine was also..Please take care of yourself and don't beat yourself up over a few pills. If you were going to continue to take them then, it may be a relapse..But nobody can judge someone elses level of pain. The fact that we are addicts doesn't mean that at some point in life we may be in a position to have to take a few. I am scared of that just like you are..I understand. i certainly don't want to be back on any meds either..
Do you feel like talking? I have been wanting to call but it never seems like a good time . I care about you alot and am really worried about your health..let me know..i don't want to intrude if you don't feel like it right now, I understand..I'm sorry that you have been having such a hard time and apparently a pretty lousy weekend. You are a strong lady my friend..love you much...Lisa

Confused,
So sorry for what you are going through. It sounds to me like you did a good job controlling what kind and how much pain meds to take. I don't know if I would have been able to do that. That is not a relapse. You were in pain and probably still are. Congratulations on day 85...5 more till 90. Hope things get better for you. God Bless. Corey
